IGDC 2026 Chennai: India Game Developer Conference, 28 to 31 October
📋 On this page +
India’s game developers have a Chennai date this year. The India Game Developer Conference (IGDC), now in its 18th edition, takes over Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam for four days at the end of October. The first two are for the industry. The last two are the IGDC Playground, the side of the event open to players.
Two Events in One Week
| Days | What | Who it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October | B2B conference | Developers, studios, publishers and the business side of games |
| Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October | IGDC Playground (B2C) | Players and the public |
IGDC describes itself as India’s biggest and oldest game developer conference and expects more than 10,000 attendees. Daily timings aren’t on the site yet.
Passes
Tickets are sold on the IGDC registration page. It lists separate categories for the Expo, the India Game Awards and I/P Connect, but it doesn’t show prices on the page itself, so open the category you want to see what it costs and which days it covers. If you only want the Playground weekend, check that the pass you pick includes 30 and 31 October.
If You Are a Student or an Indie Developer
With IGDC in Chennai this year, local students and indie developers can meet the industry without travelling. Bring a playable build on your phone or laptop and a short pitch. Conference days are where publishers and studio leads are, and the weekend is where you can watch real players try games.
Getting to Chennai Trade Centre
The Trade Centre is on Mount–Poonamallee Road in Nandambakkam.
- Bus: MTC routes 54, 154 and 597 run along Mount–Poonamallee Road through Ramapuram. Ask for the Trade Centre stop. Other options are in the Chennai bus routes guide.
- Metro: there’s no station at the complex, so take an auto or cab for the last leg.
- From the airport: the drive comes up past Kathipara junction. Weekday mornings on the conference days will be the slowest.
The Playground falls on the weekend before Deepavali, when traffic across the city picks up. Leave early on Saturday.
