Unavu Expo 2026 Chennai: Dates, Timings and Visitor Guide
📋 On this page +
Unavu (உணவு) is Tamil for food, and this is the food business’s own trade show. The Tamil Nadu Hotels Association (TNHA) runs Unavu Expo for the people who buy for hotels, restaurants, cafés and catering kitchens, and the 2026 edition fills Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam from Thursday 1 October to Saturday 3 October.
It is a trade exhibition, not a food festival. Come to meet suppliers, not to sample a menu.

The Saturday closes an hour earlier than the first two days, so leave the last day for quick follow-ups rather than a first visit.
Who It Is For
The organisers list hoteliers, restaurateurs, chefs, distributors, importers, café owners, food and beverage professionals, architects and consultants among the visitors they want. On show are HORECA (hotel, restaurant and catering) products, equipment, technology and services.
If you run a mess in Mylapore, a cloud kitchen in Velachery or the kitchen of a wedding hall in Anna Nagar, this is the kind of floor where you can compare equipment and suppliers in one afternoon instead of chasing dealers across the city.
Registering to Visit
Register through the visitor form on the Unavu Expo site. It asks for your name, organisation, designation, contact details and the part of the industry you work in. The site does not say whether there is a fee or whether walk-in visitors are allowed, so register before you travel and call the organisers on the number above if you are unsure.
Getting to Chennai Trade Centre
The Trade Centre is on Mount–Poonamallee Road in Nandambakkam, on the stretch between Guindy and Porur.
- MTC bus: routes 54, 154 and 597 run along Mount–Poonamallee Road through Ramapuram, according to MTC’s route records. Ask the conductor for the Trade Centre stop. The Chennai bus routes guide has the full route list and first and last buses.
- Metro: there is no metro station at the complex. Finish the trip by auto or cab from the station that suits your side of the city.
- Car or cab: the approach through Kathipara and Guindy is slow at office hours. A morning arrival close to 10 a.m. beats the late-afternoon rush on Mount–Poonamallee Road. Check parking arrangements with the organisers.
Before You Go
- Keep your registration confirmation on your phone.
- Carry visiting cards. Suppliers will want to follow up, and so will you.
- Note down which stalls quoted what. Three days of equipment demos blur together quickly.
