Thiruvottiyur Zone (Zone 1), Chennai: Wards 1 to 14 on the North Coast

Ward 1 of the Greater Chennai Corporation is at the top of the map. Zone 1, Thiruvottiyur, starts at the city’s northern edge along the Bay of Bengal and works south through Kathivakkam, Ernavoor, Wimco Nagar and Kaladipet towards Tondiarpet. It’s a coastal zone with fishing hamlets (the kuppams), the old Thiruvottiyur town around the temple, and newer nagars inland.
All 14 wards are in the Thiruvottiyur assembly constituency.

Getting Around Zone 1
MTC lists route 34 between Ambattur Industrial Estate and Thiruvotriyur, and 101 from Thiruvotriyur to Poonamallee, among others. The Chennai bus routes guide has the current list.
